Home Remedies for Children's STOMACH ACHE
- Slippery Elm is renowned for its calming effect on
the digestive system. The powdered bark (available from healthfood stores) can be stirred into a hot milky drink or warmed fruit juice. It can also be taken in tablet form after meals.
- Chamomile, Peppermint and Meadowsweet tisanes
are good for the digestion and will also help to soothe stomach ache when sipped after mealtimes.
- Grated Ginger root tea sweetened with honey will
also help to remove feelings of nausea.
- Make an aromatherapy oil and massage the stomach
using gentle but firm circular strokes with the three middle fingers, working around the abdomen in a clockwise direction.
For babies up to 6 months old: use lavender or Dill in a base of Almond oil.
For children over 1 year old: you can also use Peppermint and Geranium, but choose just one essence.
For children over 6: you can also use Rosemary, combining any two of the recommended essences, such as lavender and Peppermint or Geranium and Rosemary.
