||Home Remedies for Children's NIGHT TERRORS
Children are very impressionable: alarming images on
television even in the form of cartoons, may contribute to
nightmares and night terrors. As a precautionary measure
it may be a good idea to vet or even limit your child's
television viewing, especially in the evening.
- Give gentle reassurance to a child awaking from a
nightmare. It helps a child just to know you are close
and he is quite safe. Try talking about a comforting
and happy subject as this diverts the mind away
from the nightmare. Cuddle a child with a night
terror until he settles down and goes back to sleep.
- Give Chamomile tisane to sip just before bedtime.
- Place a tissue sprinkled with Chamomile and Orange
essential oils under your child's pillow. You could also
use these essences in a vaporizer.
