Time of Magnetic Therapy Application
The magnets should better be applied in the morning or evening, depending upon the nature of affection. In case of diseases of bowels, the magnets should be applied in the morning after clearing the bowels and after bath but before taking breakfast. The application of magnets for diseases, like cervical spondylosis, arthritis and lumbago should be taken in the evening, as these diseases are generally aggravated after the day's work, especially in office-goers and businessmen. However, the time of application of magnets can be adjusted according to one's convenience, but with due regard to these precautions.
Experience shows that the application of magnets if timed with the aggravation of the diseases gives quicker relief and promotes faster healing in chronic diseases. Hence, the patient should work out the time of application of magnets based on the disease modalities which will be best suited to his or her condition. Besides, the application of magnets during acute exacerbations of chronic diseases, it is advisable to continue the treatment during the interval between two attacks. This will not only reduce the severity of the subsequent attacks but will also increase the interval between two attacks.
Generally, it has been found that the diseases of the chest attended with phlegm are aggravated during early hours of the day; diseases like biliousness, gall-stones and hepatitis are more troublesome during afternoon after the flow of bile; and diseases like flatulence, acidity and incarcerated flatus are heightened during evening. These factors should also be given due consideration in choosing the most appropriate time of application of magnets in these diseases.
