Hand Healing for Stomach and Intestinal Discomfort

Hand Healing Methods to Alleviate Stomach and
Intestinal Discomfort

Any of the following methods can be applied when
children experience discomfort in the stomach and
intestines:

  • Applying palms to the stomach energy center
    (stomach chakra). Your child can lie comfortably
    on his back. You should have a straight but
    relaxed posture. Breathe normally and quietly
    and place one hand lightly on the solar plexus
    just below the breastbone or sternum. The center
    of the palm should be placed directly over this
    spot. Keep breathing normally and quietly, and
    keep the palm in place for 15 to 20 minutes. Make
    sure that your child is properly covered during the
    application.

  • Applying the palms to the stomach energy center
    and the second and third toes. This application is
    based on the complementary/antagonistic
    relationship that exists between the inner
    regions of the body and the periphery.

    Your child can lie comfortably on his back. Place
    one hand on his abdomen-as in number one-and
    with the thumb and fingers of your other hand,
    lightly grasp your child's second and third toes.
    (Either foot is fine.) You can close your eyes and
    breathe quietly and gently. The sound of "Su" can
    be added if desired.

    After about 5 to 7 minutes, release the second
    and third toes and gently grasp those of the
    other foot. Keep your other hand in the same
    position on the abdomen. Continue for another 5
    to 7 minutes and then remove both hands.

  • Applying the palms to the intestines. Have your
    child lie on his back. Sit near him with a straight
    but relaxed posture. Breathe normally and
    quietly, and place one hand lightly on your child's
    abdomen so that the center of your palm covers
    the area just below his navel. Make sure that
    your child remains properly covered. Breathe as
    above and apply your palm for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Applying palms to the intestines can help relieve
    stagnation or help excessive energy to discharge.

  • Applying palms to the intestines and forehead. To
    help release energy in the intestines and
    forehead, have your child lie on his back, covered
    as usual. Place one hand lightly on his forehead.
    Place your other hand on the lower abdomen so
    that the center of your palm covers the area just
    below your child's navel. Breathe as described
    previously and continue for 15 to 20 minutes.

    This method helps relieve discomfort in the lower
    digestive tract.
