Hand Healing for Coughing and Lung Congestion
Hand Healing Methods to Alleviate Coughing and Lung Congestion
If your child has a cold or the flu, the following methods can help alleviate coughing and lung congestion:
1. Have your child lie on his back. Place one hand across the chest region. Breathe naturally and quietly and keep your hand in place for 10 to 15 minutes. Your palms can be applied to each lung separately, or place one hand on your child's upper back or chest and cover both lungs at the same time.
2. As a variation, one palm can be placed on the chest and the other on the abdomen in the region of the transverse colon. Breathe naturally and quietly and keep your hands in place for 10 to 15 minutes. In this way, problems in the lungs and large intestine can be dealt with simultaneously.
If your child has whooping cough, any of the following methods can be used to ease discomfort in the lungs and chest region:
Applying the palm to the front of the chest. This application can be done with your child lying comfortably on his back. Place one hand gently over his chest, covering both lungs. Breathe with a normal rhythm, and remove your hand after 15 to 20 minutes. The sound of "Su" may be added when you are exhaling.
Applying palm to the chest and upper back. This application can be done with your child sitting up. Place one hand on his chest, covering the region of the lungs with your other palm opposite, on your child's upper back. Breathe with a normal rhythm, and remove your hand after 15 to 20 minutes. The sound of "Su" may be added when you are exhaling.
Applying palm and fingers to the lungs and lung meridian. The lung meridian runs down along the inside of both arms to the thumbs. To treat both regions, have your child lie comfortably on his back. Sit on one side of your child. Gently hold one of your child's thumbs between your thumb and index finger, and place the palm of your other hand lightly over his chest. Breathe and continue as in number one above for 10 to 12 minutes. After applying your hands in the above manner, sit on the other side of your child and gently hold the opposite thumb with one hand and place the other on his chest. Breathe and continue as before for 10 to 12 minutes before removing your hands.
