Aromatherapy Hot and Cold Compresses for Boils
Start with a hot compress: Add four drops of German chamomile to 300ml of tolerably hot water. Soak a piece of folded gauze in the aromatic water then remove and apply to the boil. Hold in place until it cools, then reapply.
Finish with a cold compress: Add four drops of German chamomile to 300ml of cold water, then proceed as for a hot compress, holding in place until it warms to body temperature.
Recommended time: Once or twice daily
Aromatherapy Ointment for Boils
25g Hypercal ointment 1 drop German chamomile essential oil 2 drops rosemary essential oil
Put the Hypercal ointment into a little pot add the essential oils and stir well. Apply three times a day.
Aromatherapy Lotion for Boils
25 ml distilled witch hazel 25 ml distilled water 1 drop German chamomile essential oil 2 drops lavender essential oil
Put the essential oils into a dark gloss bottle, add the witch hazel and shake well. Top up with distilled water. Shake the bottle each time before use to disperse the oil. Apply with damp cotton wool pads. Repeat every few hours for as long as necessary.
